Virgin TiVo Deals

The Virgin Media TiVo service was launched last year – it’s like an extension of V+HD with lots of extra features and Virgin have described it as like adding turbo to your TV. The main features of TiVo are;

• Great search functionality – you enter keywords for actors, directors or titles and the TiVo box will search the channels in your TV package, all of the Virgin On Demand library, the last week’s catch up and video content on the web for all relevant programmes and films
• Recording – the 500GB hard drive on the smaller box and the 1TB drive on the larger model give you ample space to record anything you want
• Suggestion – the TiVo box gets to know what you like by what you record and also by the unique new ‘Thumbs Up’ and ‘Thumbs Down’ buttons on the remote and will record programmes it thinks you will like! Programmes you have requested to record will always take precedence of course
• Web apps – as well as including web content like YouTube in TV searches the TiVo box also has apps for eBay, Facebook, Twitter and more to let you do your favourite web browsing through the TV. There’s even a 10Mb broadband connection built into the box so it doesn’t affect the broadband speed for the rest of the household

About Virgin Media

Virgin Media offer broadband, TV and landline phone packages, either solus (that is individually) or in dual and triple packages. The TV packages come in 3 sizes, M+ (over 65 channels), L (over 100 channels) and XL (over 160 channels) and these can be mixed in a bundle with the 3 different broadband packages and the landline phone service. HD TV is available on Virgin Media with 19 HD channels now included in the TV XL package. To get these you need to subscribe to TV XL and then upgrade from the V HD Box to the V+HD Box for a one-off fee of £49.95, however there is no extra monthly fee for HD with the XL package. Both the V HD Box and the V+HD Box are 3D ready too, and customers now have the choice of the Virgin TiVo Box too – more details on our Virgin TV Box page here.

Virgin Media Broadband comes in L (up to 10Mb download speed), XL (up to 30Mb) and XXL (up to 50Mb) sizes, with a superfast 100Mb service also available depending where you live. Virgin landline phone packages are also in 3 sizes, M (Talk Weekends, which is only available in a bundle), L (Talk Evening and Weekends) and XL (Talk Unlimited)
