Sky Discount Codes
In the past Sky have released discount codes giving half price Movies for a limited period, and have also made codes available for Sky Player at a discount. It’s actually very rare for Sky to use voucher codes but they almost always have special promotions on their packages.
Sky Deals and Offers
Special offers on Sky are generally based around free rental for a set amount of months, a free gift or the box itself. The deals change every few weeks but have included 3 months free Sky Broadband Unlimited when you take out a TV, Broadband and Calls package and a free Sky+ or Sky+HD box often with free set-up instead of the standard £30. The free box can depend on you taking a premium package such as Sky Movies or Sport but this varies from month to month. The most popular deal recently has been a free Marks and Spencer voucher when you subscribe online, ranging from £25 for Sky+ to £50 for Sky+HD with occasional promotions as high as £100 for HD.

Entertainment Extra 6 Months Half Price
Join Sky TV with Entertainment Extra and the bundle will cost £12.50 instead of £25 a month for the first 6 months. You can also get Sports or Movies half price for 6 months if you add them to your Extra bundle. Over 6 months this adds up to £75 saving on just the Entertainment Extra bundle, a £123 saving for Extra with Movies or a £135 saving on Extra with Sports (you can’t get the deal on Sports and Movies). Of course you still get the £25 M and S voucher too – offer ends 7th June.

About Sky TV
Sky Digital offer broadband, TV and landline phone packages, either solus (that is individually) or in dual and triple packages. Sky TV are the leaders in HD TV and 3D TV – with over 50 HD channels Sky HD is streets ahead of its nearest rival Virgin Media and despite Virgin’s 3D launch just one day before Sky there is a lot more 3D content on Sky, with movies, football and other sports now regularly shown in 3D.
Sky Broadband comes in Everyday Lite and Unlimited sizes, both with the same speeds but Everyday Lite offering 2GB of data per month and Unlimited being just what it says, truly unlimited. The Sky landline phone service comes in 2 sizes too – Sky Talk Freetime (with free evening and weekend landline calls) and Sky Talk Unlimited (with free landline calls 24/7).
Sky Digital is a satellite service so you need to have a dish installed somewhere on your property to receive it (if you’re in rented accomodation or a listed property you need to check you have the right permission before fitting). As well as this you have a Sky box installed – these days the Sky+ Box and the Sky+HD Box are essentially the same thing but only those who take out the HD Pack receive any HD channels. Sky also offer a 1TB (1 terabyte) box which can record up to 500 hours of standard definition TV.

- Pricing of Sky Sports and Movies – although Sky are now obliged to make these available on Virgin Media and BT Vision the fact that the channels are owned by Sky means that you’ll generally get the best price from Sky too
The best way to get Sky TV is to take a triple bundle of TV, broadband and phone. Looking at the most basic Sky bundles here you would take Broadband Everyday Lite, Sky Talk Weekends (which has weekend landline calls included) and the TV service with the Entertainment Pack, then choose whether you want standard definition or HD, in which case you add on the HD Pack for an extra £10.25 a month. The old entertainment packs were groupings of channels by similar category and were Variety, News & Events, Style & Culture, Knowledge, Children’s and Music. Now the Sky Entertainment pack has all the channels from Variety and Style & Culture and Entertainment Extra is basically all 6 packs.
Sky Digital is widely known for its sports and movie channels and these can be taken as extra ‘premium’ channels on top of the normal package price. Both Sky Sports and Sky Movies can be taken individually (for example Sky Sports 1 only) or as complete sets like the Sports Pack which is made up of Sky Sports 1, 2, 3 and 4 plus Sky Sports News. For sports fanatics there are other add-on channels such as ESPN and dedicated channels for Chelsea FC and Manchester United.
