BT TV Packages
YouView from BT is available with BT broadband and calls packages as a triple bundle – first you choose between TV Essential and TV Unlimited and then select a broadband and calls option to go with it. If you’re already a BT broadband customer you just need to select a TV size to add on to your package.
BT TV comes in 2 sizes – ‘TV Essential‘ and ‘TV Unlimited‘. Both come with a free YouView Box – £49 set-up fee applies – which lets you pause, rewind and record your Freeview channels and access catch-up TV and BT Vision on-demand content through your broadband connection. Both sizes include catch-up TV from BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand Five, with the kids content from Five in a separate Milkshake player. On TV Essential you can watch programmes from Vision TV, Kids, Music, Sport and Film Club on a pay-as-you-go basis from 50p a show or £3.50 per movie. With TV Unlimited you get as much access as you want to all of the on-demand except Vision Box Office (the more recent movies), which is available from £3.50 per movie.

Vision+ with Sport
Sports fans can get Sky Sports 1, 2 and ESPN from BT but they are not available through the YouView box – for that reason BT are still offering their Vision+ Box for sports packages to any customers in a BT Infinity area. If you can get Infinity where you live (you can check here) then you can take Vision+ with Sport, which has exactly the same package deals as YouView above with extra monthly fees for the sport channels as follows;
- Sky Sports 1 – £15
- Sky Sports 2 – £15
- Sky Sports 1 and 2 – £20
- ESPN – included for no monthly fee, just a one-off £10 card fee
- Vision Sport (mainly older classic footage) – included
There are some minor differences in the general TV service between YouView from BT and Vision+ with Sport, namely this…
- HD – no HD channels on Vision+ with Sport (HD movies can be rented)
- Catch-up – Only selected shows on Vision+ with Sports but, unlike YouView, no adverts
- EPG – no 7 days backwards EPG on Vision+ with Sport, only 7 days forwards
